Hello, I am working on my project, which is about nutrition in  critically ill adults. I am looking for an area hospital to do some clinical time. I am looking for a dietitian, or with a nurse practitioner or physician that deals a lot with enteral nutrition. If any one knows of someone, please pass along the information, or I will give you my information to pass on to them. Thanks so much!

Michigan Doctors of Nursing Practice (MDNP)
Statement of Purpose initial ideas:
1. Support the DNP’s efforts in meeting our state’s healthcare needs
2. Support the DNP’s efforts in translating transdisciplinary research into practice
3. Increase public and professional awareness of the emerging DNP prepared nurse
4. Influence health care policy
5. Offer a forum for networking and support for DNPs and DNP students
6. Offer mentoring to nurses and nursing students, including nurses in advanced roles and future doctoral students
7. Transform the health environment by collaborating across disciplines to improve patient care quality and safety
8. Promote educational advancement in nursing
9. Promote the advancement of the profession of nursing

Michigan Doctors of Nursing Practice (MDNP) Minutes
Friday, May 14, 2010
Location: Madonna University, DiPonio Bldg

5:30-6:00 pm Network/Refreshments

6:00-6:30 pm Welcome/Intro
Dr. Burgermeister welcomed everyone to Madonna University
Rosanne Burson described how the group began to form and set the tone for the meeting as
an exploration for initial ideas related to our purpose.
Introductions: everyone introduced themselves and discussed why they came tonight.

6:30-7:15pm Statement of purpose Kathy Moran/Dianne Conrad
Each of the initial ideas were presented with clarification and additions. Review the
attached statements. There will be ongoing discussion related to these identified purposes.
There was discussion related to the need for “a new nursing group” or whether we should
be part of another group such as MICNP. It was noted that no single group identifies all
areas of advanced practice and that our current needs would not be met. It was decided to
move forward with the MiDNP.

7:15-7:30pm Future Plans
Organizational development-There was discussion related to hosting a few more meetings to identify direction prior to formal organizational development.
It was determined that we would meet quarterly. Communication will occur through the Michigan group on the doctorsofnursingpractice website.
We will continue to meet at Madonna for this year. (Sept meeting)
Agenda items will be requested through the summer and conversation will ensue during
this time on the website.

Next meeting scheduled for:
Friday 9/10/10 at 6pm at Madonna University (details/agenda near the date of the meeting).
