Re: migrating to Canada, inquire to the Board of Nursing, in the Province you want to be. I lived in Canada for 2 years (Ontario) and was required to take the Provice's Nursing Exam and had registered residence achieved initially.

I am a Family Nurse Practitioner in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I am not sure about the stats on the number of CABG procedures in Canada. Is this something you assist with in the US. Most NPs do not assist in surgeries here in Canada although we do have acute care NPs. The majority develop their own role because, to tell you the truth, each province seems to do their own thing and no one can agree on scope of practice across the country. We don't have a lot of PAs here but they do most of the assisting in surgeries.
